Selling Domains by Public Auction
You can give potential buyers the option of bidding for your domain through The Domain Name Aftermarket (TDNAM). You set the minimum price, which is the lowest amount buyers can bid for the domain. Buyers bid on the domain, and the highest bidder wins when the auction ends. However, if you set a reserve price, the domain only sells if the reserve price is met. NOTE: Potential buyers cannot see the reserve price, but they can see that a reserve price has been set and whether it has been met.
To Sell Domains by a Public Auction
- Log in to TDNAM. Your Account Manager displays.
- Click Auctions.
- From the Sell Domains menu, select List a Domain.
- Complete the following:
- Enter Domain Name and Re-enter Domain Name
- Enter the domain you want to list for auction.
- Enter Domain Description
- Describe the domain you want to list. If you have traffic data for the domain, you can add it to the description.
- Does this domain name include an existing Website?
- Indicate whether the listing includes Web site content.
- Is this an Adult Listing?
- Indicate whether the domain is of a mature nature.
- From the Select your listing choice section, select 7-Day Public Auction.
- In the Select a category area, select the categories you want to associate with your domain and click Add.
NOTE: You receive one category with your listing. However, you can purchase four additional categories.
- In the Enter a valid email address field, enter the email account you associated with your PayPal account. If you do not have a PayPal account, you must set one up before proceeding.
- Click Continue.
- In the Enter Minimum Price field, enter the amount at which you want to start the bidding.
- From the Select Auction End Hour list, specify the timeframe during which you want to end the auction.
- (Optional) To purchase and set a reserve price, select Just $4.99, and then enter the reserve amount in the Enter Reserve Price field.
- (Optional) Increase your domain's exposure by purchasing any of the following:
- Make my listing a Home Page feature
- Displays your domain on the TDNAM home page.
- Make my listing a Category Page feature
- Displays your domain on one of the category pages.
- Add Certified Appraisal
- Get an appraisal for the value of your domain.
- Read the Terms of Service, and, if you agree to the terms, select I agree.
- Click Checkout and proceed through the checkout.
It takes up to 24 hours for listings to become active.
