Adding a Guestbook to your WebSite Complete Project
The Guestbook plug-in within WebSite Complete creates a page that allows visitors to post comments on your Web site. It can also serve as a basic discussion forum for a topic you might be interested in. Depending on the intended use for the Web site, you may want to password protect this page.
To Add a Guestbook to Your WebSite Complete Project
- Open WebSite Complete, and load your project.
- From the Plug-Ins menu, select Guestbook. The new page wizard is used to set up the Guestbook Page.
The wizard allows you to customize how text on the page is formatted, though you are limited to commonly supported fonts to keep the site compatible across platforms. The Guestbook can be set to post comments from visitors to your site immediately, or wait until you review and approve the comments.
To edit these preferences later, bring up the page within WebSite Complete and double-click it. The new page wizard displays and allows you to make changes. Be sure to re-publish after doing so for your changes to take effect.
The Guestbook must be hosted with us. The Guestbook is also managed online. Type your domain in the address line of your browser and then add "/manager" to the end, without the quotes (for example, http://insert-domain.com/manager).
Log in using your hosting ID and password. Allow 24-48 hours for this feature to become fully accessible after publication.
