What is the Directory option and how do I use it in my WebSite Complete project?
The Directory Page option within WebSite Complete enables companies or other organizations to post their contact directories. If necessary, this page can be password protected. Members of the site can post or modify their own entries through the Web.
The page can be set up with one column of entries or two, and configured to require manager approval before a directory listing is added. Text can be customized and formatted, though you are limited to commonly supported fonts to keep the site compatible across platforms. You can also decide whether or not your directory allows pictures.
The new page wizard allows you to make these choices when you first add the page. If you would like to modify these settings at a later date, double-click on a blank part of the Directory Page from within your WebSite Complete project. Be sure to re-publish your site for the new settings to take effect.
Memberships for your directory are managed online. Enter the domain for your site in the address line of your browser and then add "/manager" to the end, without the quotes:
(for example, http://insert-domain.com/manager)
Log in using your hosting ID and password. Allow 24-48 hours for this feature to become fully accessible after publication.
Because of the server-side support involved, a site with a Directory Page must be hosted with us.
Detailed instructions about setting up your Directory Page can be found in the Quick Guide under the topic Directory.
