Creating a Container on Your SocialSpace

SocialSpace content is broken into containers. Containers can hold fixed feeds, photo streams or other custom content.
Add a Container with a Fixed Feed
- Click the Add Content button on the menu bar.
- From the drop-down list, select the type of content you would like in this container. Content is broken up into categories based on the subject of the content. When you find content you would like to display, click on it. A new container with that content will be added to your SocialSpace.
Add a Container with Custom Content
- Click the Add Content button on the menu bar.
- From the drop-down list select Blank RSS.
- A blank container will appear with a configuration tab next to it. In the configuration tab, type the Title for the new container and the feed URL. When you are finished, click OK.
NOTE:The SocialSpace feed reader does not read RSS 1.0 feeds, but most Atom and RSS 2.0 feeds will display.
Find your Favorite Web Site's RSS Feed
If your favorite Web site has an RSS feed, look for a direct link in the form of a small icon or plain text that says XML, RSS, RSS2, RDF, or Atom, or a "Syndicate this site" link.
Click on the RSS feed icon or link, and copy or type the link URL into your blank RSS container as described in step three (3) above.
Some examples of popular RSS feed are:
- Twitter - You can hover over or click the RSS link on your Twitter home page to access the RSS feed URL. For example, http://twitter.com/statuses/friends_timeline/12345.rss, where 12345 is your Twitter user ID.
- Netflix (offers many) - Go to RSS Feeds to see all feeds available.
- SmugMug (offers many) - For example, if you want to subscribe to SmugMug's most popular photos today, type http://www.sugmug.com/hack/feed.mg?Type-popular&Data=today&format=rss200.
- MySpace (offers many) - For example, you can subscribe to the Domestics Automotive forum by typing http://forums.myspace.com/rss.aspx?ForumID=95.
