Hiding a Web Page
You can hide a page on your Web site by not including it on your navigation menu. When you hide a page, a visitor will need a direct link to access the page.
To Create a Hidden Page
- Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
- From the Manage menu, select Organize Site .
- Click New Page.
- In the Enter Your Page Title field, enter a title for the page. For information about page titles, see What is a page title and why do I need one?
- Specify the layout you want to use by selecting from the following:
- To create a traditional page, select Traditional Web Page, and then select the layout you want to use. If you want to use the same layout you used on another page, select the page from the list.
- (Paid accounts only) To create a mobile page, select Mobile Web Page, and then select the layout you want to use. If you want to use the same layout you used on another page, select the page from the list.
- If you are not using a CSS-based template, view all layouts by selecting Show All, and then select the layout you want to use.
- Click OK.
Note: When the Organize Site page displays, WebSite Tonight completes the rest of the fields on the page. You can edit these fields or click OK to complete the process.
- In the Browser Title field, enter the title you want to display in the browser's title bar.
- In the Heading Title field, enter the main heading for the page.
- In the Button Title field, enter the name you want to display on the button that links to this page from other pages.
- In the Filename field, enter the name you want to save the page as.
- To keep your page from displaying in the navigation menu, do not select Add or delete menu buttons when adding or deleting pages. This box should be unchecked.
- Click Finish.
