Managing Authors
Note: These features are not available with the free version of Quick Blogcast. However, you are welcome to upgrade to the paid version of Quick Blogcast in order to gain use of the products full features.
To Add an Author
You can give another user permission to help you manage your blogcast site by adding the user as an author.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Blog menu, select Author Information.
- Click Add Author. Enter author information in the following fields:
- First Name and Last Name
- The author's name.
- Display Name
- The name you want to display with the author's post.
- Email Address
- The author's email address.
- User Name
- The author's user name.
- Password and Verify Password
- The author's password.
- Permissions
- In the Status list, select Active or Inactive.
- Active
A current author who can create entries in your blog. - Inactive
An author whom you have created, but who cannot create entries in your blog. You can make inactive authors active at any time.
- Active
- Select the permissions that you want to grant the new author.
- Click OK.
To Edit an Author
You can edit the general information or permissions that you assigned to any author.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Blog menu, select Author Information.
- Click Edit next to the author you want to edit.
- Edit the author information in the following fields:
- First Name and Last Name
- The author's name.
- Display Name
- The name you want to display with the author's post.
- Email Address
- The author's email address.
- User Name
- The author's user name.
- Password and Verify Password
- The author's password.
- Permissions
- In the Status list, select Active or Inactive.
- Active
A current author who can create entries in your blog. - Inactive
An author whom you have created, but who cannot create entries in your blog. You can make inactive authors active at any time.
- Active
- Select the permissions that you want to grant the new author.
- Click OK.
To Delete an Author
You can delete authors whom you do not want to have continued access to your blogcast site. If you want to keep the author's profile for later access, do not delete the author, instead you can deactivate the author. You can activate inactive authors at any time. However, you cannot recover an author that you delete.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Blog menu, select Author Information.
- In the Authors Name list, perform one of the following actions to delete an author:
- Select the author(s) you want to delete, select Delete Authors from the Select action menu, and then click Apply.
- Click the Delete icon (X) next to the author you want to delete.
To Change Your Author Information
You can update your author information at any time. On the Author Information page, you can change your general account information, including your name, your display name, email address, user name, and password.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Blog menu, select Author Information.
- Click the Edit icon next to the author you want to edit.
- Edit the author information in the following fields:
- First Name and Last Name
- The author's name.
- Display Name
- The name you want to display with the author's post.
- Email Address
- The author's email address.
- User Name
- The author's user name.
- Password and Verify Password
- The author's password.
- Select the permissions that you want to grant the new author.
- Click Save.
To Activate an Author
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Blog menu, select Author Information.
- Click the Edit icon next to the author you want to edit.
- In the Authors Name list, perform one of the following actions to activate an author:
- Select the author(s) you want to activate, select Activate Authors form the Select action menu, and then click Apply.
- Click Edit next to the listing of the author you want to activate. Then, in the Edit Author page, under Permissions, select Active from the Status menu, and then click Save.
To Deactivate an Author
You can deactivate authors whom you do not want to delete, but also whom you do not want to have current access to your blogcast site. You can activate inactive authors at any time.
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Blogcast.
- Click Manage Account next to the blog account you want to modify.
- From the Manage Blog menu, select Author Information.
- Click the Edit icon next to the author you want to edit.
- In the Authors Name list, perform one of the following actions to deactivate an author:
- Select the author(s) you want to deactivate, select Deactivate Authors from the Select action menu, and then click Apply.
- Click Edit next to the listing of the author you want to activate. Then, in the Edit Author page, under Permissions, select Deactivate from the Status menu, and then click Save.
