Working With Roles
You can create Roles for site administrators, for yourself, and for anyone else to whom you want to grant access to your Quick Shopping Cart. Roles enable you to allow others to access select areas of your Quick Shopping Cart application without having to provide them with your hosting account user name and password. Each member has their own user name and password.
You can assign roles to your employees so that they can access the Quick Shopping Cart administrator console to edit and maintain the storefront. While you can assign Roles to any member, for security reasons, we recommend that you only assign Roles to site administrators.
To Create a Role
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
- On the Quick Shopping Cart page, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
- Using the Advanced Builder, from the Members menu, select Roles.
- Enter a Role Name, and then click Add.
- In the Define Role Choices list, use the checkboxes to select the areas of the Quick Shopping Cart application to which you want to grant members assigned this Role access.
- Click Submit.
To Add a Member and Assign Roles
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- In the My Products section, click Quick Shopping Cart.
- On the Quick Shopping Cart page, click Open next to the Quick Shopping Cart account you want to use.
- Using the Advanced Builder, from the Members menu, select Add New Member.
- In the Create a New Member area, complete the following information:
- Email Address
- Enter the member's email address.
- Password / Confirm Password
- Enter the member's password.
- Roles
- Select the role you want to assign to the member.
- Click Add Role to create a new Role.
You need to inform all new members of their email address, password, and the Web site (domain) to enter so that they can log in to the application. After they enter Quick Shopping Cart, they can change their password.
Members with access rights can access Quick Shopping Cart through the Web by pointing their browser to https://app.fastshoppingcart.com. On the Login page, members enter their email address, password, and the Web site (domain name) associated with the Quick Shopping Cart account.
As the account owner, you can continue to access the program through your hosting account, but it is a good idea to also add yourself as a member with site administrator rights.
NOTE: Your Internet sign on name to Quick Shopping Cart is your member email address, not your hosting account user name and password.
