Adding and Editing a List Within a Form

WebSite Tonight gives you the tools you need to build a form that visitors can complete and submit. You can choose from a form template, build your own custom form, or a combination of both.
A form element is part of a form. You must add a form before you can add a form element. For more information about adding a form, see Adding Forms to Your Web Site.
To Add a List as a Form Element
- Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
- From the Design menu, click Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page that contains the form you want to edit.
- Click the form you want to edit.
- Go to the Options tab, and then select Edit Form.
- From the Insert Fields list, select List.
- In the Enter a label for the new field field, specify the text you want to add with the list. If you want to assign properties to the list, modify the properties in the List Properties pane.
- When finished, click OK.
To Add Items to a List Form Element
- Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
- From the Design menu, click Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click the form you want to edit.
- Go to the Options tab, and then select Edit Form.
- Click the field you want to edit. The Properties displays on the left.
- Click Advanced Properties.
- To add an item, click Add Single Option. Blank text boxes display beneath the last item in the list, if any.
- To add an item above another item in the list, click the Add a new item above this item button. The Add a new item above this item button is located in the Add column of the list.
- In the Option/Label field, type the item label.
- In the Value field, type the value you want to assign to the item for use in the WebSite Tonight program. By assigning a separate value, you can change the label without changing the value.
- Click Apply.
To Edit an Item in a List form Element
- Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
- From the Design menu, click Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click the form you want to edit.
- Go to the Options tab, and then select Edit Form.
- Click the field you want to edit. The Properties displays on the left.
- Edit the item information.
- Click Apply.
To Rearrange the Order of List Items
- Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
- From the Design menu, click Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click the form you want to edit.
- Go to the Options tab, and then select Edit Form.
- Click the field you want to edit. The Properties displays on the left.
- To move an item down, click the down arrow for the item.
- To move an item up, click the up arrow for the item.
- Click OK.
To Delete Items in List Form Elements
- Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
- From the Design menu, click Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click the form you want to edit.
- Go to the Options tab, and then select Edit Form.
- Click the field you want to edit. The Properties displays on the left.
- Click Advanced Properties.
- Click Advanced Edit.
- From the Edit Content window, click the list to select it.
The List Properties display in the right pane. - Click Advanced Properties. The Edit List window displays.
- To delete a single item, click the Delete button for the item you want to delete. The Delete button is in the Delete column of the list.
- To delete the entire list, click Delete All Options.
- Click OK.
To Set List Properties
- Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
- From the Design menu, click Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click the form you want to edit.
- Go to the Options tab, and then select Edit Form.
- Click the field you want to edit. The Properties displays on the left.
- If necessary, in the Label field, edit the label.
- To change the number of items you want to display at one time, in the Size field, specify the number of rows you want to display.
NOTE: If you specify to display more than one item at a time, you change the list to a multi row list (list box) instead of a single row list. A list box displays on the page, and you can scroll through the items to locate the item you want to select.
- To allow users to select multiple items, select Multiple.
- To require users to make a selection from the list before submitting the form, select Required.
To Set Advanced Properties for Lists
- Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
- From the Design menu, click Page Designer .
- If necessary, from the You are editing list, select the page you want to edit.
- Click the form you want to edit.
- Go to the Options tab, and then select Edit Form.
- Click the field you want to edit. The Properties displays on the left.
- Click Advanced Properties.
- To use a pre-defined list, from the Pre-defined List, select the list you want to use.
- Click OK.
