Setting Your Web Site Preferences
In WebSite Tonight, Web site preferences are optional settings that you can select that help you to manage your Web site. Your preferences also include the option to allow you to show or hide the WebSite Tonight banner at the bottom of your pages.
To Set Your Web Site Preferences
- Log in to your WebSite Tonight account.
- From the Settings menu, click Configuration.
- To allow WebSite Tonight to automatically set the navigation buttons as you make changes on the Organize Site page, select Add or delete menu buttons when adding or deleting pages.
Note: By selecting this option, WebSite Tonight makes the navigation buttons consistent across all pages in your Web site.
- In the Banner area, do one of the following:
- Show dark banner
- To display a dark version of the banner on your Web pages, select Show dark banner.
- Show light banner
- To display a light version of the banner on your Web pages, select Show light banner.
- Hide banner
- To prevent the banner from displaying, select Hide banner.
Note: If you select to hide the banner, you will see the light version of the banner on the WYSIWYG, but the banner will not display on the published page.
- In the Publish area, you can also specify the following settings:
- Analyze Web site prior to publishing
- To analyze your Web site before you publish it, select Analyze Web site prior to publishing.
- Back up Web site prior to publishing
- To make a backup copy of your Web site before you publish it, select Back up Web site prior to publishing.
- Log publish details
- To automatically keep a log of your publishing details, select Log publish details.
- In the Search Engine optimization section, you can also specify the following settings:
- Redirect all visitors to
- redirects requests for you site to www.yourdomain.com. Search engines view yourdomain.com and www.yourdomain.com as separate sites. combining these may help search engines rank your site more effectively.
- Description
- A brief description of the content of your page. Some search engines use this information to help determine relevance and page rank.
- Keywords
- Keywords are words that describe the content on your site. Keywords should have a space between them and be separated by a comma. Adding more keywords will not necessarily improve your search engine ranking. You can effectively optimize your page without adding more than 10-15 keywords.
- In the Reseller Prog ID field, you can enter your reseller identification number.If you want information about how to become a reseller, click the Become a Reseller hyperlink.
- In the Spell Check section, you can have the spell checker ignore words that are all uppercase, or words with numbers. These options are selected by default.
- Click OK.
