Embedding an Image in an SWF (Flash®) File
You can deter someone from copying or using your photos as their own by embedding your images in an SWF file. This prevents them from dragging or copying the image from the browser window. Adobe® Photoshop®, Corel® Paint Shop Pro®, and The Gimp are several photo-editing applications that you can use to get the dimensions of your photo.
Adobe Flash®, Swish, and SWFkit, are several tools that you can use to create SWF files. In addition to photo-editing and interactive design applications, you need to know the width and height of the image and some basic HTML knowledge.
To Create a Flash File
- Open the Flash application and from the Create New list, select Flash Document.
- From the Modify dropdown menu, select Document.
- In the dialog box, enter the width and height dimensions of your cropped image and click OK.
- From the File menu, select Import>Import to Stage.
- In the dialog box, locate and select your image file, and then click Open.
- Save your file to the same location as your original image file.
- To generate your SWF file, from the File menu, select Publish Settings.
- In the dialog box, select Flash (.swf), and then click Publish.
You can now import your SWF (Flash) embedded photo into your Website.
